Katherine Walker loves to rhyme

She does it in her leisure time

She’s always had the gift for this

Not one occasion would she miss

At Durham Uni she did reach

The height of valedictory speech

While studying a degree in Arts -

Any excuse for rhyming parts!

And then her first job in PR

Consumer products took her far

Persil, Comfort, Lux and Dove

Lever Bros – what’s not to love?!

Domestos gave her chance to shine

A health newsletter to combine

The use of multi surface spray

With rhyming verse - what other way?!

Other clients followed suit,

All still the consumer route

SmithKline Beecham, Baxters, Coors

Opened her creative doors

But then she chose to leave this role

Journalism was her goal

The writing itch must sure be scratched

And so a plan to study hatched

Then freelance at Express magazine

Interviewing, writing what she’d seen

In celebs’ fridges she would look

And comment on the food they took.

But jobs were few and far between

She searched for full time jobs she’d seen

And then a new path she did take

Recruitment now – to her, match make!

It gave her such a lot of enjoyment

Choosing them their next employment.

And then she chose to work four days

And move into the City haze

A Livery Co her destination

And, to her, her true salvation

Events and membership her role

She gives to it her heart and soul

And often there’s an invitation

Which might need some rhyme creation!

Bring it on, that’s what she’d say

That’s how she got to here, today!
